President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Laura Boldrini has sent a feedback to the letter of Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman. In his letter earlier, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada had expressed concerns over the intention of some representatives of the Movimento 5 Stelle party (Italy) to visit Crimea in autumn at the invitation of Russian occupation authorities.

Laura Boldrini insisted on retention of its steadfast official position by Italy as to the Russia-annexed Crimea. She noted that the intention of some Italian deputies to visit Crimea is their own initiative. "If such a visit takes place, it will not change the Italy's official position as to the occupation and further annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. My country has always shared the position of the European Union, which is committed in condemning the annexation," Boldrini's letter says.

At the same time, the letter notes the importance of further strengthening of friendly Ukrainian-Italian interparliamentary relations for Italy.
